Andrew Deloy McMillan

July 18, 1923 - January 3, 2015

Andrew Deloy McMillan, our husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and brother, 91, passed away on January 3, 2015, in Payson Utah. He was born July 18, 1923, in Murray Utah to Michael Elmo McMillan and Hannah Mary Johnson. He married Janice Darline Openshaw on March 28, 1947. They were the parents of six children Learetta, Drew, Ronnie, Randy, Peggy, and Becky. Later divorced. He married Colleen Anderson Sevy on May 16, 1969 and took the role of father to Colleen’s children: Randy, Debra, Lorrie, and Tracy. Later Deloy and Colleen welcomed their final child Kevin. He graduated from Murray High School and attended the University of Utah. At age 19, he was drafted into the United States Army and served proudly in World War II including The Battle of Bulge. His service took him to various places in Africa and Europe. He was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and worked diligently in any calling he was asked to serve in. Deloy’s work ethic was second to none and he enjoyed his employment in sales and later as a custodian at Alta High School. His personality and ability to quickly gain friends allowed him to influence those with whom he worked. Deloy was an avid fan of the Utah Jazz, BYU football, and BYU basketball. He is survived by his wife Colleen; children, Learetta Long, Randy (Tam) Sevy, Drew (Beth) McMillan, Debra (Gary) Alvey, Becky (Scott) Gottschall, Lorrie Sevy, Tracy Leiter, and Kevin (Holly) McMillan. He is also survived by twenty-nine grandchildren and fifty great grandchildren. Brothers; Kaye (Thelma) McMillan, Reed McMillan, and Rick (Lisa) McMillan. Proceeded in death by parents, siblings: Don, Arden, Ray, Melvin, and Patricia; sons: Randy and Ronnie; and daughter Peggy. Friends and family may visit from 9:30 am to 10:30 am at the church prior to services. Interment in Payson City Cemetery with Military Honors. Funeral Directors: Utah Valley Mortuary.
