Anthony Anguiano

May 4, 1981 - August 3, 2019

Anthony James Anguiano, of Pleasant Grove, Utah passed away suddenly on Saturday, August 3, 2019, due to a pulmonary embolism. He was 38 years old. He was the youngest of five children, born on May 4,1981, to Richard and Terie Anguiano in Webster, Texas. Tony spent the first 17 years of his life in Galena Park, Texas where he was fortunate to grow up in a very close family surrounded by many siblings, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Tony moved to Provo, Utah when he was 17 with his brother Michael, and they were inseparable. He was a brilliant man and there wasn’t anything he couldn’t fix or create. Tony graduated from Utah Valley University. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held various positions in the church. He met the love of his life, Rina Ruth Robinson while attending UVU and they were married on a hot summer day in July at the Houston, Texas Temple. Tony was adventurous, charismatic, and a joker. People couldn’t resist his lovable and teasing nature. He gave the best hugs and never hesitated to help someone in need despite his busy schedule. Tony was a hard worker and took on multiple trades to provide for his family over the years. He was a talented and an extremely intelligent man, he has been a mechanic, produce manager, business analyst, and had many other jobs throughout his short life. He could truly do anything. Tony was an amazing husband and father who adored his wife and 5 children. He loved taking them to new places, throwing fun parties, barbequing, and making amazing food. Tony never claimed to be a saint and he was far from perfect. He knew sorrow, failure, and disappointment, but he never gave up. In his last decade of life, we can honestly say he was one incredible man that we all looked up to. Marrying Rina was the best thing that ever happened to him and he loved her fiercely. He was an amazing father to his five children Mikelle, Austin, Ila, Gabriela, and Alexandra. Tony would do anything for his children and always tried to find ways to have fun with them. They adored him and he adored them. Whether he had money or not he always wanted to make the time with his children memorable. In his last hours, he threw a backyard movie night for his kids and was so excited to build them a huge movie screen, a pathway lined with tiki torches, and treats galore. We can’t imagine he would have wanted to spend his last night any other way, if he had a choice. Tony always worried that he wasn't enough, but he was so much more than enough. His life was way too short but in that short time he accomplished so many goals he had for himself. Every time he was asked which one he was most proud of, he always replied, his Eternal Family. Words often used to describe him have been intelligent, accomplished, hardworking, loving, spiritual, affectionate, inventive, reliable, witty, humble, sincere, courageous, and ridiculously good looking (according to Tony and Rina, both are a bit near sighted and bias). Honestly, he was just about every positive adjective out there except for patient. No matter how hard you tried you couldn’t help but fall in love with him. He was loyal, hardworking, and full of love. He was hilarious and had no problem taking a joke to the next level. He was well known for the creativeness he put into his Halloween Costumes, he would plan for months and even grew his hair out and permed it one year as part of his costume. His nieces and nephews adored him. He was always available to them and supported them in their lives. He helped raise some of them, fixed broken toys, took them on outings and vacations, and checked on them as if they were his own. You never doubted Uncle Tony’s love for you. Those that had the great pleasure of getting to know Tony will never forget him and will always have an empty space in their lives that he once filled. But Tony will be remembered in his Children. When we look at each and every one of them, we see pieces of him still in this mortal realm. We see his big beautiful bright eyes that sparkled. We see his adorable dimples that make others smile bigger. We hear his big exuberant laugh that makes others laugh and smile longer. And most importantly we see his strength in them. Tony was so strong and protective. He would have done anything to protect his family. And we can confidently say that while he may have regrets from his time here his biggest regret will be that he wasn't able to protect his children from the pain and heartache that they now have. Tony was our hero. He was the most generous man with his time, money, and talents. He was full of laughter, loyalty, and love. The world is less colorful without him. When we learned of Tony’s passing it felt like part of the sun had been extinguished. Tony was sunny. He was a bright spot in an ever-darkening world. What a terrible, terrible thing to happen…but what an incredible blessing it was to have Tony in our lives. That glow that he brought to everyone is something that cannot fade. Tony is preceded in death by his grandparents, his aunt and brother-in-law. He is survived by his wife Rina Ruth Anguiano, five children, Mikelle, Austin, Ila, Gabriella, and Alexandra, his parents Richard and Terie Anguiano, siblings, Teresa McCue (late Jeffrey), Richard Jr. (Myriam), Anna Smith (Patrick “Gouch”), Michael, and many adoring nieces and nephews that will be forever influenced by his life. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, August 10th, at 11:00 am, at the Manilla 11th Ward, 850 North 900 East, American Fork, where Viewings will be held Friday, August 9th from 6:00 to 8:00 pm and prior to services on Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 am. Interment in Pleasant Grove City Cemetery. Funeral Directors: Utah Valley Mortuary.
