Mr. Bob Hampton

Robert Alvah Hampton died peacefully at home in Highland, Utah on March 1, 2013. He was born January 1, 1928 to Alvah Hampton and Elma Perry Hampton at Cottonwood Maternity Home in Murray, Utah. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1945 to 1947. He was employed by the U.S. Army as a radar technician for over 30 years. He was a long-time resident of El Paso, Texas, moving to Utah in recent years to be closer to his family. Uncle Bob, as he was known to three generations of nieces and nephews, loved fishing, bowling, jigsaw puzzles, gardening, Dallas Cowboys football and John Wayne movies. He was a member of the LDS church. Bob is survived by his sisters Betty Yoak of Highland and Janet Anderson of Las Vegas, Nevada, one brother, Weston Ray Hampton of North Richland Hills, Texas and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Richard Perry Hampton and Harold Wayne Hampton. A Viewing will be held Tuesday, March 5, 2013, from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Highland 1st Ward, 9621 N. 6050 W., Highland, Utah. Graveside Services will be held Wednesday, March 6th at 11:00 am in Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, 3401 South Highland Drive, Salt Lake City, UT, where Military Honors will be rendered by the U.S. Navy.
