Brian Anderson

June 6, 1961 - August 1, 2015

After 12 years of countless miracles, Brian John Anderson passed away from Leiomyosasrcoma on August 1, 2015. Brian was born to Clyde and Geneil Anderson in Logan, Utah on June 6, 1961. He was the fifth of their six children. He grew up in Logan, graduating from Logan High School in 1979. Brian worked for the family business, Anderson Seed and Garden, through his growing up years and after his mission for another 12 years. He served an LDS mission in the Chile, Santiago North mission. He married his best friend and sweetheart, Kathy Anderson, in the Logan Temple March 30, 1984. They are the parents of five wonderful children and five grandchildren (with two more on the way). He loved spending time with his family, watching mysteries, old movies, and he loved to laugh. His dry, witty, “drive-by” humor will be sorely missed. Brian had an insatiable desire to learn and a photographic memory. He loved fixing things, building things, and working with computers. In 1997 he made a career change. He moved his family from Logan to Pleasant Grove, Utah, and began working in the computer industry, which he loved. His final job was his favorite. He was the Senior Software Quality Engineer Lead for mormon.org. He found great joy in using his talents to help the kingdom. He also served in many church callings through the years including stake missionary, ward and stake clerks, Elder’s Quorum counselor, High Priest group leader, and he was blessed to be Bishop of the Pleasant Grove Garden 2nd Ward. He truly loved these people. Brian is survived by his wife Kathy, children Heather (Trevan Richins), Stephan (Laura), Brent (fiancée Michelle), R. Alex, and Natalie Anderson; grandchildren Geneil, Tavin, Kelton, Bredon, and Kate; parents Clyde and Geneil Anderson of Logan, Utah; and siblings Marian McCann, Karen Jeppesen, Paul, Lorraine, and Mark Anderson. He was loved by so many and will be truly missed. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, August 8th, at 11:00 am, at Pleasant Grove Garden Stake Center, 1028 West 1000 North, Pleasant Grove, Utah, where Viewings will be held Friday, August 7th, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, and prior to services on Saturday from 9:45 am to 10:45 am. Interment in Mendon City Cemetery, 25 North 200 West, Mendon, Utah (next to his Grandpa John Hughes). Funeral Directors: Utah Valley Mortuary.
