Mrs. Delores Bates Clark
October 2, 1925 - March 2, 2013
Delores "Dee" Clark, age 87 passed away Saturday, March 2, 2013 peacefully in the home she had so lovingly cared for over the past 35 years. Dee was born to Frank Russell Bates and Olive Reva Strong on October 2, 1925 in Alpine, Utah. She was the oldest of five children. Dee loved growing up in Alpine and then moved to Los Angeles, California while in high school. Like many of her generation, she learned the value of honesty, hard work, and family. These same traits were taught to her family. Dee met her future husband, Duane (Buck) Clark, from Lehi, Utah and fell in love. She soon became a "war bride" as they were married December 31, 1944, in Ozark, Alabama, where Buck was stationed in the Army. They were later sealed in the Los Angeles Temple. They enjoyed 52 years together before Buck's passing in 1997. Their union produced three wonderful sons: Richard, Stanley, and Gary, and two daughters, Crystal and Karen; along with 13 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Mom made our house a home, always beautifully cared for, full of love, laughter, and the smell of good food, breads and rolls. She remains famous for her homemade candy. She was devoted to her family, friends, and church. She served faithfully in the Primary, Mutual, and Relief Society organizations. She also loved serving in the Mt. Timpanogos Temple. Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at the Grove Ward Building, 455 East 200 South, Pleasant Grove, Utah. Friends may call from 10:30-11:30 a.m. at the church prior to the service. Interment in Pleasant Grove City Cemetery.
