Eleanor Dennis

May 4, 1937 - October 14, 2017

Eleanor Elizabeth Pezoldt Dennis passed away October 14, 2017 at her home in Elk Ridge, UT with family by her side. She had been fighting a three-year battle with cancer. She is survived by her husband Robert (Bob) Dennis, her daughter Andrea Archer, son-in-law Eric Archer, son Robert Martin Dennis, daughter-in-law Jennifer Dennis and eight grandchildren. Eleanor was born in Napa California on May 4, 1937. She was the only child of Alma Bessie and Paul Robert Pezoldt. She attended High School in Stockton, CA. After High School, she attended Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, graduating with a degree in elementary education. She met her husband in Hayward, CA at a Christmas party at the apartment building where they both lived. Singing Christmas carols with a group, Eleanor thought that Bob had a very nice voice. They were married March 19, 1960 in Hayward, CA. Eleanor and Bob lived in Freemont, Fair Oaks and Folsom California before settling in Placerville California where they lived for 22 years on 27 acres in the country. In August of 2001 they relocated to Elk Ridge, UT where Eleanor enjoyed being close to neighbors and members of her church. Eleanor joined the LDS church with her parents when she was a teenager and that was an important part of her life. She was very creative and had many interests which included needlepoint, wreath making, sign language interpreting, photography, raising goats, cooking, scrap booking, stamping, and reading. All her interests and hobbies were done with unique dedication and skill. She didn’t just try things but really delved in and did things knowledgeably and beautifully. Her grandchildren loved to make art with Grandma and she liked to spend time with them showing them new things. Her gentle, sweet person will be greatly missed. Memorial Services will be held Saturday, October 28th, at 11:00 am, at the LDS Church located at 259 Alpine Drive, Elk Ridge, UT. A time for reminiscing will be held prior to services at 10:30 am.
