Evelyn Geniel Chlarson
April 2, 1938 - June 22, 2018
Surrounded by family, Evelyn quietly slipped from this life to the next to be reunited with her loved ones that went before her. She was born April 2, 1938 to Mayo Balle and Madge Braithwaite Young in Elsinore, Utah and died June 22, 2018 in the home she loved. She married Donald Mort Barron on July 26, 1956 and together they had six children. They later divorced. She met Glen Chlarson when they both worked for Hercules and were married on September 13, 1979 and sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on September 20, 1980. Mom was an avid reader and also enjoyed needlework, gardening, and painting. She loved animals, LDS Primary songs, old things, Ephraim and the many friends she has made her. She had many jobs throughout her long life but the most unusual one for her was the assistant editor at the Pyramid. Many thanks to Cheryl. Mom was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she had worked in the Primary and in the library. She was also a visiting teacher which she really enjoyed. Mom was proceeded in death by her parents; Blake, her brother; Bonnie, her sister; and Glen, her husband. Mom is survived by her children: Ruth Ann Amos (Jay) of Layton, Rebecca Jean Overbaugh of Sandy, Larry Barron of Sandy, Susan Kay Dutra (Greg) of Star Valley Ranch City, Wyoming, Alan Mark Barron (Trish) of St. George, Christine Barron of Ephraim, and Gary Glen Chlarson (Rose) of Payson. In addition, Mom was blessed with 25 grandchildren and 41 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Keith Young (Carolyn) of Ephraim. Funeral services will be held Friday, June 29, 2018 at 11:00 am at the Ephraim 8th Ward, 400 E Center, Ephraim, Utah, where a Viewing will be held from 9:00 to 10:30 am prior to the service. The interment will be at the Fairview cemetery. The family would like to thank the wonderful people of the Ephraim 8th ward who so tenderly cared for her and the Intermountain Medical hospice team, especially Tammy, Kaitlin and Charlie who were so kind and gentle with her.
