Gerald Moore

January 15, 1946 - May 26, 2017

Gerald Lee Moore, age 71, passed away on Friday, May 26, 2017. He suffered a brain aneurism on Wednesday, evening of the 24th, and never regained consciousness. Gerald was born on January 15, 1946 in Los Angeles, California and was the third child of a family of five children to Vondora Marx Moore and Cecil Taylor Moore. Gerald grew up in Los Angeles, moving to San Marino where he attended junior high school and later graduated from San Marino High School. He attended some college working toward an accounting degree. He lived in Palos Verdes, California for a few years before going on an LDS mission to Northern States. He met and married his first wife Bonnie Faye Brumfield and they had 5 beautiful children. He grew up working in his family business, a fire extinguisher company in Los Angeles named Moor-Fite, Inc. This prepared him to later own and run his own fire extinguisher company both in Virginia and Utah. His main interest in recent years was in real estate and retired owning property in Georgia, Florida and Utah. Gerald was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and loved attending the temple and association with his fellow members. He enjoyed traveling, fishing, cooking, reading, studying, sports and movies. He loved his family and when time allowed spending time with children and grandchildren. Gerald was preceded in death by his father Cecil Taylor Moore and his mother Vondora Marx Moore. He was survived by his current wife, Sandra Martinez Moore of Provo, Utah, Angela Carter (daughter) Salt Lake City, son Brian Moore (Charlotte) of Provo, daughter Tammy Withy (Scott) of Magna, daughter Kim Lum (Koa) of Honolulu, Hawaii, son Matthew Moore (Mandy) of Lehi, 20 grandchildren and 3-1/2 great grandchildren who loved him. Two brothers, Gary and Lynn Moore and two sisters, Bonnie Sobotka and Linda Andersen. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, June 1, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Lakeside 10th Ward Building, 2225 West 620 North, Provo, where a Viewing will be held prior from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Interment in the Provo City Cemetery, 610 South State Street, Provo. Funeral Directors: Utah Valley Mortuary.
