Glenna Ross

December 8, 1926 - October 27, 2017

Glenna Wallace Ross, 90, died Oct. 27, 2017, from natural causes incident to age. She was born Dec. 8, 1926, in Standardville, Utah, to Clarence John and Thora Bryson Wallace. She spent her early years in Carbon and Davis counties. She graduated from Davis High School and attended BYU. She married Clarence Bruce Bliss May 23, 1947, in the Salt Lake Temple. He died in action in Korea in 1952. She raised their two children as a single mother until she married William H. Ross in 1966. They lived in Nevada, New Jersey, Alabama, and retired to Utah. Bill was a devoted husband who tenderly cared for her throughout their life together and especially in the last few years. She was an active member of the LDS Church where she served in leadership positions with the Young Women and Relief Society, and was a service missionary. She was a member of the DUP and Beta Sigma Phi sorority. Glenna will be remembered for her service, her generosity, her unstoppable energy, and her beautiful red hair. She was a true-blue BYU fan, an avid reader, and played a mean game of Liverpool Rummy. She is survived by her husband, William H. Ross, two children, Michael (Nancy) Bliss and Patricia (Dennis) Riches; two step daughters, Robin (Michael) Spade and Allison Fairfield; 17 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Audrey (Jack) Whipple. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Bruce Bliss; brothers, Douglas Wallace and Elmer Wallace; and a son-in-law, Michael Fairfield. The family will be forever grateful for the loving attention provided by the caregivers from Symbii Hospice and Legacy Village. Funeral services will be Saturday Nov. 4, 11 am, at the Highland 14th Ward Chapel, 6050 West Chapel Drive, Highland, Utah. Where Viewings will be held, Friday evening, Nov. 3, from 6-8 pm and prior to the funeral on Saturday from 9:30-10:30 am. Interment will be at 2:30 pm in the Bountiful City Cemetery, 2224 South 200 West.
