Harold Earl Bushman JR

August 24, 1942 - June 3, 2019

Harold Earl Bushman, Jr. (Earl), passed away peacefully on Monday, June 3, 2019 after a battle with cancer. Earl was born August 24, 1942 in Los Angeles, CA, to Harold Earl Bushman Sr. and Nita Whiting Bushman. He spent many happy years as a child in Joseph City, AZ. The family moved to Fredonia, AZ and Earl spent the school year in Fredonia and the summers up in the Kaibab National Forest on the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. He told many fun stories of his exploits in the logging camp there. Later the family moved to Albuquerque, NM where Earl attended Jr High and High School. He graduated from Sandia High School in 1960. He then went to BYU, where he first met his future wife, Evelyn Heywood. He served a 2-year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Australia and then returned to BYU. He and Evelyn married on June 5th, 1964 in the Mesa, AZ LDS temple. Earl graduated from BYU with a degree in Accounting, and the couple settled in Tempe, AZ. They had 3 children – Alyse (Shattuck), Rebecca (Gibson), and Bret. The family relocated to San Jose, CA in 1976. Earl and Evelyn moved to Orem, UT in 1991. Earl is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and has served in many capacities. He worked as an accountant, and often travelled internationally on business. He will be remembered for his kindness, his humor and his willingness to always help no matter what was needed. He was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife, Evelyn, a granddaughter, Janae Alyse Shattuck, and a sister, Renae Bushman. He is survived by his children Alyse Shattuck, Rebecca (Mike) Gibson, Bret (Shauna) Bushman, 13 grandchildren, 3 great-granddaughters and 2 sisters, Linda (Ron) Hale, and Kathy (Tom) Bogart. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 11th, at the Timpanogos 5th ward Chapel, 800 North 100 West, Pleasant Grove, UT. Viewing and visitations will be held from 10:00am until 10:45 am, followed by services beginning at 11:00am. Interment will be at the Orem City Cemetery, 1520 North 800 East, Orem, UT.
