Helen L Eddington

January 2, 1938 - February 14, 2018

Helen Lundskog Eddington, age 80, passed away peacefully on February 14, 2018, in her home surrounded by family. She was born January 2, 1938, in Murray, Utah to Gustave Alben Lundskog and Lillie Marie Gillen. Helen grew up on her family farm in Murray with six siblings.  She graduated from Murray High School and attended both the U of U and BYU. Helen married Darrell R. Eddington in the Salt Lake Temple on December 28, 1960. They recently celebrated their 57th Wedding Anniversary.  They are true examples of unselfish love and devotion to their ten children and extended family.  She loved doing genealogy but would not let us call it her hobby.  It was her life's work.  She was very organized in documenting family histories, learning about ancestors, and sharing special stories and photos with everyone.  Helen loved to travel and enjoyed family vacations.  She loved gardening with her husband, as well as sewing, baking, and hosting.  She served by intuition, knowing exactly what was needed and when.  She was talented and artistic, showcasing her abilities with gorgeous oil paintings, lovely food presentations, and beautiful handwriting. She dedicated her life to our Savior Jesus Christ through her exemplary service in the Church.  She magnified all church callings and worked her way into the hearts of many church members, neighbors and friends.  She and Darrell served two LDS missions together, first in Izmir, Turkey, and then in Toronto, Canada.  She will be greatly missed by many.   She is survived by her husband Darrell, children Diane (Günther) Haidenthaller, Linda (Bryan) Thompson, Paul (Emily) Eddington, Susan (Jeff) LeBaron, Lori (Benj) Krogh, Ray (Jill) Eddington, Janet (Rhett) Wayman, Marie (Michael) Jensen, Kathy (Paul) Huntsman, & Jodi (Jason) Jensen, 59 grand-children, 16 great-grandchildren, Gay Sherrow, Afton Richardson, and Margie Atkinson (sisters), Mary, Gail, and Shirlene Lundskog (sisters-in-law).  She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Elry, Parley, and Elmo and three grandchildren, Gus Carlisle, Bryan Eddington, and Rose Marie Jensen.  Funeral Services will be held Saturday, February 17th, at 11:00 am, at the Alpine 4th Ward, 910 South High Bench Road, Alpine, Utah, where Viewings will be held Friday, February 16th from 6:00 to 8:00 pm and prior to services on Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 am. Interment in Alpine City Cemetery. Funeral Directors: Utah Valley Mortuary.
