Jackie Tadje
April 18, 1924 - December 27, 2015
Jacqueline Ann Barrett Tadje, our dearly loved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 27, 2015 surrounded by her children. She was thrilled to be able to live in her home alone. She was born on April 18, 1924 in Chicago Illinois, to Charles Elmer and Odessa Darnall Barrett and was the youngest of five children all of whom have passed on. Jackie grew up in Salt Lake City and graduated from East High and then attended the University of Utah where she received a BA in Dietetics. She married Fred W Tadje October 3, 1945 in the Salt Lake Temple. Jackie loved spending time in her beautiful garden, camping with her family, golfing (‘hole in one’ two times), bowling, crossword puzzles, and games with family and friends. She loved to read and was always up to date with current events. She was one of the founding members of Willow Creek Country Club where she and Fred spent many years playing golf with friends and family. She loved her family and created many wonderful memories for her children and grandchildren during their annual summer vacations in Sun Valley. She had a testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She served on the Young Women General Board and served in her ward as President of the Relief Society, Young Women, and Primary and had many other opportunities to serve. She is preceded in death by her husband Fred W Tadje, brother Verl Barrett, sisters Lorraine Feinauer, Fae Demarest and Marge Allen. She is survived by her children Ann Cluff (Terry), James Tadje (Susan), Robert Tadje (Marsha), Jjoan Adams (Reed), 16 grandchildren, and 41 great grandchildren, all of whose names she repeated each night in her prayers. The family wishes to thank her sweet neighbors and members of the Holladay 18th ward for shoveling the snow, taking out and bringing in the garbage cans, calling and visiting her and for their general love and concern for her. The family will be available Saturday, January 2nd,in the Relief Society room of the Holladay 18th Ward building, 2625 Milo Way, Holladay, Utah, from 12:00 to 1:00pm for those who would like to visit and share memories. Inurnment will be at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park earlier in the day. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Jane Barrett Memorial Fund at the University of Utah College of Architecture and Planning, 375 South 1530 East, Room 235, Salt Lake City, Utah 84112.
