John Patrick Moore

November 20, 1967 - March 24, 2022

John Patrick Moore of Lehi, Utah, passed away at his home on March 24, 2022. He was born November 20, 1967 in Van Nuys, California, son of Jack Edward Moore and Katherine Anne Popkess Moore. John graduated from Edison High School in Huntington Beach, California. Following his graduation, he attended Orange Coast College in Costa Mesa, California, where he studied restaurant management and hospitality for a couple of years. John married Leah Anne Ness on May 9, 1992 in Lake Tahoe, California. Together they built their first home in Aliso Viejo, California, where they settled down and started their family. They lived there for a number of years, eventually moving to Canyon Lake, California, where they lived until their children finished high school. A new adventure awaited them when they moved to Utah, and they have resided there for the last 8 years. John worked in the restaurant industry for over 36 years. In that time he worked his way up to be a manager and general manager for several restaurants including Ruby’s, Salt Creek Grill, Islands, Chili’s Grill and Bar, and The Original Pancake House. John had many interests throughout his lifetime, but his heart and soul belonged on the water. He grew up surfing in Huntington Beach, California, and later transitioned to wakeboarding, which he enjoyed with his whole family. He also enjoyed cooking, sailing, hiking, and family fishing trips to Similar Island in Canada. John is preceded in death by his father, Jack, and survived by his wife of 29 years, Leah; his mother, Kathy, his 2 brothers, David and Greg, his son, Tyler, and his daughter, Brooke. John was a wonderful son, brother, husband, and father. He loved his family very much and would have done anything to make sure they lived a happy life. He has left our lives way too soon, but will forever hold a special place in our hearts.
