Mr. Joseph Walter Nelson

August 25, 1969 - August 10, 2011

Joseph Walter Nelson, 42, passed away on August 10th in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was born August 25, 1969 in Richmond Heights, Ohio. Joe served an honorable mission in Denver Colorado, attended BYU Idaho (Ricks College) and graduated from Provo College. Joe was a very hard worker, very generous and was a gentle man. He is survived by his father, Joseph B Nelson, his father’s wife Ann L Nelson, his best friend Donna Whitney and his siblings, Diana (Duane) Sprague, Julie (Jeremy) Johnson, Maria (David) Stalnaker, Michael Harwood, Karl (Heather) Harwood, Mimi (Christian) Jacobs, and Elliot (Sarah Beth) Harwood. He also leaves 6 nephews and 13 nieces. Joe’s gentle smile and the “skip in his step” will be missed by all those who knew and loved him. He is preceded in death by his mother Carol B Soper Nelson and his grandparents. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, August 18th at 11 am at the Eastdale LDS Chapel, 9855 South 2300 East in Sandy, Utah. At Joe’s request his remains have been given to science for help in the field of medicine.
