Julie Alene Axelgard

June 26, 1954 - May 16, 2022

Julie Alene Axelgard, Age 67, passed away peacefully at Timpanogos Regional Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She is now reunited with her loving parents and older brother with our Father in Heaven. Due to health conditions, she passed away unexpectedly from heart-related issues. Our family will miss her dearly and her passing will leave a huge void in our lives. Mom was always a loving and caring person to anyone and everyone she knew; her memory will live with us forever. Julie adored every minute that she could be surrounded by her children, grandchildren and other family members. Julie’s character spoke for herself, she was always willing to help anyone in need. Julie is a very loving, honest, and true believer of families are forever. Mom is a supporter of all things the family has accomplished. A mother and grandmother who loved hearing stories of her children and grandchildren. Some of her interests included traveling, playing games with the family such as Skip Bo and watching TV shows, especially “When Calls the Heart”. Julie is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Aspen 1st Ward. She has held numerous callings which included Stake Primary, Relief Society, Young Women and the one she loved the most was teaching primary children. Julie was married and sealed to her sweetheart Mikel Axelgard on August 22,1975 at the Provo Temple. Julie and Mikel have been sweethearts since they met 52 years ago. Julie leaves behind her loving and devoted husband, Mikel; children, Jasen (Jolyn), Tye (Beth), Marcie (Aaron) Hernandez and Kyle (Sierra); 12 grandchildren; siblings, Valerie (Scott) Staheli and Eric (Ann) Haymond. Julie was preceded in death by her parents, L Wood and Betty Haymond; brother, Russell Haymond; granddaughter, Vanessa Medina; and grandson, Joshua Axelgard. A very special and heartfelt thank you to the ICU doctors, nurses, and ER staff at Timpanogos Regional Hospital for their kind and loving care of our loving wife and mother.
