Kenneth B. Grass

January 16, 1955 - November 15, 2017

Kenneth “Ken” Brent Grass, age 62, from Orem, Utah passed away peacefully Wednesday November 15th, 2017 in Provo, Utah after a courageous fight with a terminal illness.  Ken was born January 16th, 1955 in Salt Lake City, Utah to George and MarJean Grass. He grew up a stubborn, rambunctious, smart kid with a talent for many things. During his childhood, he grew his love for animals and the outdoors. He attended Murray high school graduating in 1973.  He was married to Cindy Ruth Newbold from 1974-1984, they have 4 children together. He married Peggy Sue Schultz in September 1988 in the Provo Temple, they have two children together.  Throughout his life, Ken owned his own drywall company where he worked hard each day to provide for his family. He took so much joy in his work and through this talent he could help his children and family with home projects. He was an avid hunter and fisher, any chance he got he was at the lake with a pole in the water or camping in the mountains. For the past 25 years he raised fish, learning how to breed different traits and took so much pride in his work.  About 5 years ago he set out to earn a degree, succeeding in earning an Associate’s Degree in computers, this is something that he worked hard for and was very proud of.  Ken is a High Priest Member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, his testimony brought him great joy and peace especially knowing he would get to see his late son again.  Kenneth is survived by his wife, Peggy Grass; children David (Erin) Grass, Amy (Reynold) Edwards, Andrew (Emily) Grass, Jennifer (Kevin) Duersch, Teresa (Mark) Rutter; grandchildren, Logan, Ronin, Gavin, Jaxon & Elexis Grass, Aiden, Jocelyn, Isabelle, Olivia, & Elanor Edwards, Carson Braden, Abigail, & Emily Duersch, Lydia Rutter; parents, George and MarJean Grass; siblings, Steven (Rebecca) Grass, Julie (Brad) LeBaron, Cindy (Randy) Mellor, & Jaren (Ami) Grass; 34 nieces and nephews and his mother-in-law, Joan Schultz.  He is predeceased by son, Kenneth Brent Grass, Jr., May 1977; father-in-law, Ronald Keith Schultz, December 2009; brother-in-law, Ronnie Kay Schultz, March 2006, and his beloved dog Callie.  The family would like to thank the nurses on the 2nd and 7th floor at Utah Valley Hospital who treated him with the respect and dignity he deserved during his last days.  Ken will be greatly missed by his friends and family and the many others he touched greatly in his life.  We know he has gone fishing. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, November 21st at 11:00 am at the Orem 4th Ward, 50 South 800 East, Orem, Utah.
