Lisa Kimmell Jacobs
December 18, 1961 - January 29, 2018
Lisa Kimmell Jacobs lived victoriously through lung cancer for 5 years and 10 months. She was born on December 18, 1961 and peacefully returned home to her Heavenly Father on January 29, 2018 at age 56. Lisa was born in Ogden, Utah and grew up in Saratoga, California in the Bay Area. She was the oldest of three children born to Richard & Connie Kimmell. She graduated from Saratoga High School in 1980. Lisa had an unwavering testimony of her Savior Jesus Christ and a desire to share that with others. As a result, she chose to serve an LDS Mission. She served in the Argentina, Buenos Aires South Mission for 18 months from 1983 to 1984. Later she attended BYU where she met the love of her life, Lincoln Jacobs. They were sealed for time and all eternity in the Oakland Temple on August 22, 1987. Shortly before graduating from BYU, she gave birth to twin boys, Chad and Tyler. Later the family grew to include two beautiful daughters, Ashley and Lexy. Lisa loved being a wife, mother, sister, and grandmother. She loved teaching her children about the Gospel and the love that Heavenly Father has for each of them. She loved serving in the church and particularly loved working with the Young Women and the Young Single Adults. Lisa spent many years working with students at Rocky Mountain Elementary School and later working as a scholarship counselor at Pleasant Grove High School. Lisa loved spending time playing games with her family, participating in sports, enjoying the beautiful outdoors, and doing everything that made her feel alive. Lisa loved life and the joy that came from knowing families are eternal. This brought her peace despite the health challenges she experienced in the last few years of her life. Her biggest love in life was that of her sweet husband, Lincoln. He is her best friend and biggest fan. She is survived by her husband, Lincoln, and their children, Chad Jacobs, Tyler and Andrea Jacobs, Ashley and Nathan Gunnell, Alexis Jacobs and her sweet grandson, Emmett Jacobs. She is also survived by her father, Richard Kimmell, her brother Chris & Cornelia Kimmell, and her sister Kathleen Woods-Robinson. For the viewing and funeral, we’d love to see friends and family celebrate Lisa’s life by wearing her favorite bright happy colors: teal, hot pink, lime green, and bright blue. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, February 3rd at 11:00 am at the Lindon Stake Center, 1050 East 100 North, Lindon, Utah, where Viewings will be held Friday, February 2nd from 6:00 to 8:00 pm and prior to services on Saturday from 9:00 to 10:30 am. Interment in Orem City Cemetery, 1520 North 800 East, Orem, Utah. Funeral Directors: Utah Valley Mortuary.
