Lois Carter

August 10, 1937 - November 7, 2017

Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, passed away on November 7, 2017. Lois L. Carter, 80, was born August 10, 1937, in Provo, Utah to Elwin and Florence Peay. She married Rocky Roberts they were later divorced. She married Floyd Carter June 7, 1955. He preceded her in death on September 1, 1977. Lois attended school in Provo through high school. She loved to sew, knit, crochet and do needle point. Many people were blessed with a pair of her homemade knitted house slippers and beautiful needlepoint dish towels. She loved to go camping and hunting. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She loved her family more than anything in the world. She had the ability to make friends with everyone she met and she made everyone who came into her life feel special. She leaves a legacy in the lives of all of those who were positively influenced by her life of loving service. If she wasn’t taking in a family member in need she was helping a friend or stranger. She was a grandma to anyone that stopped by to visit. A special thanks to four of her special grandchildren Tyrail Butler, Baeli Hunt, Hailee and New Holyoak. She had a big heart that held on until the very end. She is survived by her best friend, Don Harris; children, Ricky (Julie) Roberts, Steve (DeAnn) Carter, Tauna (Kelly) Butler, Mickey Carter, Gary (Paula) Carter and Bonnie Curtis. She leaves behind 16 grandchildren, many great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband and parents, brothers Lynn and Donald Peay, sisters Anita Young and Geraldine Farnsworth; daughter, Becky Carter; son, Rod Carter; daughter-in-law, Ilene Carter; son-in-law, Butch Curtis and grandsons Gary Carter, Jr. and Justin Strange.
