Mrs. Marjorie Swensen

May 24, 1920 - March 17, 2013

Marjorie H. Swensen, age 92, of Provo, passed away Sunday March 17, 2013. She was born May 24, 1920, in Sigurd, Utah. She was the oldest daughter of John Golden and Myrtle Thompson Hanseen. Her first husband was Wm Garth Seegmiller. Marjorie was beloved by everyone who knew her. She was kind and gentle and loved others in return. She was a hair dresser by profession and there were none better. She loved her work and strived for perfection in every way. She loved her family and her greatest joy was being a mother to Craig, Cary, Mary, and Patty. Marjorie married Albert D. Swensen July, 1 1983 in the Salt Lake Temple. They were called on a mission to Vienna Austria in October 1984 until May 1986. Marjorie had a strong testimony of Jesus Christ which continued to grow stronger each day of her life. She loved to read the scriptures and study the gospel. She never stopped learning. Marjorie was a wonderful example of enduring to the end. She was the oldest child in a family of five girls and they all considered Marjorie their hero. Marjorie's memory will shine forth in the lives of all who knew and loved her. Survived by: Son William Cary Seegmiller, daughters Mary Gail Haymond and Patricia Lynn Burton (George) Step children: Marilyn Hess (Ted), A. John Swensen, Philip R. Swensen (Dana), Margaret S. Lifferth (Dennis), Sisters: Rayola Mitchell, Carma Ferguson (Hal), Sondra Ellis (John). And many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Preceded in death by: husband Albert D. Swensen, son Garth Craig Seegmiller, grandson Steven Seegmiller, step son Donald G. Swensen, step daughter Kathryn S. Graf, and sister Rosemary H. Platt. Funeral Service will be held Monday, March 25, 2013 at 11:00 am at the Oak Hills 9th Ward Chapel located at 1960 N. 1500 E., Provo, Utah, with a Viewing held prior to services from 8:00 am to 10:30 am. Interment will be in the Provo Cemetery. Funeral Directors: Utah Valley Mortuary.
