Norma Jean Andersen Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Norma Jean Andersen, our mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, peacefully passed away, Thursday, October 24, 2019 in American Fork, Utah. Norma was born August 20, 1930 in Salt Lake City the only child of Henry Eugene Adams and Rose (Dolly) Avery. She grew up in the Salt Lake area and graduated from West High School. Norma married Arthur Glen (Bill) Andersen on August 24, 1953 in Salt Lake City, subsequently solemnized in the LDS Salt Lake Temple (later divorced). They were the parents of one daughter and one son. She was a devoted wife and mother and lovingly served her family. Her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were her greatest joy. She worked for Walker Bank and at the Primary Children’s Hospital for many years. She loved to travel and lived in Germany and various places in the United States with her military husband. She loved going to the mall with her friends and raised shopping to an art form. A member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Norma served in various positions including in the Primary and Relief Society organizations. She is a descendant of the first saints from Iceland who immigrated to Utah in the 1850’s. She was a petite, gentle, and soft-spoken woman who will leave a big hole in our hearts. Norma is survived by her children, Jodee (Alex) Boulton and Brian (Karen) Andersen. She also leaves behind her five grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. A Private Family Gathering will be held Monday, October 28th at 10:30 a.m. at Utah Valley Mortuary, 1966 West 700 North, Lindon, Utah. Graveside services for family and friends will follow at the Salt Lake City cemetery at 1:00 p.m. Funeral Directors: Utah Valley Mortuary.
