Mrs. Oi Lan Wong

April 4, 1927 - December 21, 2012

Oi Lan Wong, 85, passed away on Friday, December 21, 2012 surrounded by her loving family at her home in Provo, Utah. She was born on April 4, 1927 in Canton, China, to Shing Lam Wong and Hon Tay Tsang. She recently celebrated sixty-five years of marriage with her loving husband Kong Lam Tsang. As a young girl in China Oi did not have an opportunity to gain a formal education. However, she was very bright and a great advocate of learning. She always encouraged and supported her children with their educational pursuits. She was an entrepreneur and used her talents to support the health and well being of her family. She created many health drinks and juices long before they were popular to today’s consumers. She had a “green thumb” as is witnessed by the many beautiful flowers and plants found in her home. Oi taught here children life’s values including the value of hard work. She was very benevolent and gave all she had for the benefit of others. It was not uncommon the find others in her home who had fallen on very hard times and needed some help to reestablish their lives. She never thought twice about helping them by feeding them, cleaning their clothes, giving them shelter and most of all giving them her love. Her family was the most important thing to her. She always looked forward to visits from her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her husband Kong Lam Tsang; five children, Joseph (Lisa), Helena (Terrence), Amy (Wilson), Peter (Anita), JoJo (Terry); grandchildren, Gabriel (Pauline), Angelina, Virgina (Derek), Raymond (Emigh), Nicholas, Jessica (Daniel), Michael (Shelby), and Terrance; great grandchildren, Olivia, Jona, Sophie, Sydney, and Cody; sister, King Lan Wong. She is preceded in death by a daughter, Siu Fun. Graveside Services will be held Thursday, December 27th at 1:00 pm in the Orem City Cemetery, 1520 North 800 East, Orem, UT.
