Mr. Paul G. Eves

October 27, 1944 - November 1, 2011

Paul Gary Eves (67) Orem, passed away in the arms of his wife and children November 1, 2011 in American Fork. Paul was born October 27, 1944 in Springville, Utah, the son of Arthur Glen Eves, Sr., and Zora Mae Amtoft Eves. He attended schools in Springville, Richfield and Duchesne, graduating from Springville High School in 1962. He served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints to the North Central States. He joined the Army in 1966 and served with the 362nd Signal Corp. in Vietnam. He married his sweetheart Joy Kelsch on June 21, 1968 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He loved to tell people that he asked her to marry him on their first date. They spent his last tour of duty together in Germany. After their return, Paul spent the next four years at BYU, majoring in Electrical Engineering and Business Management. An active member of the LDS Church, he served in many capacities including Elder’s Quorum President, Sunday School Teacher, Young Men’s Presidency, Boy Scout Leader and faithful Home Teacher. He and his wife served as Ordinance Workers in the Mt. Timpanogos Temple. At the time of his death he held the office of High Priest. He was always willing to help others. He loved to build homes and built many in the area. He loved being a father and was active in his children’s activities, attending many horse shows, football practices and motocross races. He was a devoted grandfather to his four grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Joy; daughter, Amberlyn Eves, Orem; son, Jeff (Michelle) Eves, Orem; grandson, Kayden Eves; granddaughters, Kaylee, Kanyon and Krue Eves; brothers, Wendell (Carol Jean) Eves, Springville, and Howard (Ann) Eves, Springville; sisters, Maxine (Grant) Weight, Springville and Carol Eves, Sandy, Utah; step-brothers, Ken, Ron and Wesley Johnston; and step-sister Zoetta Ann Paxman. He was preceded in death by this parents, step-father Howard J. Johnston, brother Arthur (Carol Joan) Eves and infant sister Beverly Eves. The family wishes to thank Provo Care, Heritage Care Center and Hearts for Hospice for the tender care given to Paul. Funeral Services will be held at the Sunset Heights 7th Ward, 1260 S. 400 W., Orem, Saturday, November 5th at 11 am. A Viewing will be held Friday, November 4th from 6 to 8 pm at the Church and on Saturday prior to the services from 9:30 to 10:45 am. Interment will be in the East Lawn Cemetery with Military Honors, 4800 N. 650 E., Provo.
