Reid Robison

October 8, 1924 - January 8, 2022

Reid Enoch Robison, 97, returned to his Heavenly Parents on January 8, 2022, due to complications related to COVID-19. Reid was born October 8, 1924, in Aetna, Alberta Canada, to Marion Robison and Effie Jensen Robison. He married Gloria Dawn Adams Robison on June 13, 1950 in the Idaho Falls Idaho Temple. They were blessed with four children: Reid, Brad, Dawn and Elizabeth. Everyone who knew Reid, loved him. He was gentle, kind, dedicated, hardworking, faithful and forgiving. He gave everyone grace. His life was filled with miracles. Against all odds, Reid survived war, a horrific car accident, colon cancer, and two extremely complicated abdominal blockage surgeries. He worked hard to stay fit and healthy saying, “If I get COVID it will do me in.” Reid was a World War II veteran, serving in the U.S. Army from 1944 to 1946. In the Americal, 27th, and the 1689 Engineer Divisions, he participated in the Philippine invasions of Leyte and Cebu. He was on a ship enroute to a staging area for the planned invasion of Japan when the war ended. Reid was then stationed as a 1st Sergeant in the 43rd Engineer Construction Battalion in Japan until his service ended in August 1946. Reid was very athletic, lettering in both basketball and football. He also represented Wyoming as a state champion boxer. He graduated from Byron Wyoming High School as Salutatorian. After the war, Reid graduated from Ricks College (BYU Idaho) with an Associate Degree and Utah State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Economics. His successful career in government service took him throughout Montana and, eventually, in 1971 to Washington D.C. where he served in the national office of the Farmer’s Home Administration Farm Loan Division. He retired in 1979. Due to the war, Reid was unable to serve a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints until his retirement. He then served two missions with his wife Gloria Dawn; one in Guatemala and one in St. George, Utah. For over a decade, Reid was a faithful temple worker and sealer in the St. George, Temple. Reid was preceded in death by his parents, by his siblings (Dale, Lee, Beth and Don) and last April by his son Dr. Bradley Keith Adams Robison. Reid is survived by his wife, Gloria Dawn, a son Reid Adams Robison (Diane), and daughters Dawn Fowler (Paul), and Elizabeth Andersen (Kelly), as well as 19 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren. Due to COVID-19, a private service will be held for immediate family members only. Interment with Military Honors in East Lawn Memorial Hills Cemetery, Provo, Utah. Sayings of Reid Robison 1. Think before you speak instead of saying what you think. 2. Find a penny, pick it up and all day you’ll have good luck. 3. Never finance a car. A new car loses value the minute you drive it off the lot. 4. Make your money work for you instead of you working for your money. 5. It costs as much to buy an old house as a new house but a new house has fewer repairs. 6. Chew your food slowly. Always leave the table wanting more. 7. Drink a full glass of water before every meal. 8. Watch your weight-life is hard when you weigh too much. 9. If you can’t say something nice, don’t say anything at all. 10. It’s too bad we all have to die someday. 11. I’ll save it for later. 12. War is horrible. Presidents should have to send their sons if they declare war. 13. Killing animals for sport is no sport at all. 14. Everybody needs a job so they develop self-respect. 15. Listening is better than speaking. 16. A gentleman always walks on the outside of the sidewalk. 17. Never go to bed angry. 18. You don’t need that do you? You don’t want to do that do you? 19. For crying out loud, why did you do that? 20. You don’t think I always want to go to church do you? I go because it is the right thing to do. 21. Taking home pens or pencils from work is stealing from the government. 22. Wasting time on the job is stealing from your employer. 23. Save your mileage money to buy your next car. 24. Always have good insurance. 25. Expired food storage is better than no food storage at all. 26. Settle down. That will do. Simmer down. 27. Men take care of yard work, garbage, and home repairs. Women cook and clean, but men always barbecue. 28. Always keep the gas tank half full. 29. I don’t know, go ask your mother. 30. Never make impulsive purchases. 31. Too much stuff never makes you happy. 32. I have to get that project out of my hair. 33. You take the good and leave the bad. 34. Nobody is perfect. Everybody disappoints you sometime. 35. You have to just let people do what they want. 36. Always buy Made in America. 37. Buying quality lasts longer. 38. Don’t worry I am always here for you. 39. If you do your part, we’ll help you out. 40. Never rely on someone who brags. 41. You can’t hide true character. 42. You have no regrets if you hold your tongue. 43. Actions speak louder than words. 44. Never be late. 45. Don’t throw it away, it might come in handy. 46. Your brothers mean well. 47. No camping. I got enough camping in the war. 48. I have to keep going. 49. Take care of your mother. 50. I love you no matter what. 51. If I get that COVID, it will do me in.
