Ruth Minerva Guymon Cox

August 6, 1945 - December 26, 2020

Ruth Minerva Guymon Cox, age 75, of Orem, Utah, was embraced by her Savior on December 26, 2020, when she passed away in the hospital from respiratory arrest. Ruth was born on August 6, 1945, in Huntington, Utah, to Terry Montell and Phyllis Margaret (Rolph, Fixel) Guymon. She was loved by her older siblings: Eugene Ned Fixal, Beth Alvida Fillmore, and Dennis Nelson Fixel and enjoyed gathering on the living room floor to listen to the radio shows when they were young. Ruth met and married Danny Dean Lane in 1962. They had two sweet sons: Robby Dean and Michael (Mick) Zane. They later divorce and Ruth married Allen C. Cox in 1967. They were blessed with two children: James Allen and Jennifer Ruth. They raised their four children in Provo, Utah. Then later divorced. Ruth had a service-oriented heart. She loved spending time with family and friends and helping them feel special. She worked for KEYY Christian Radio station for many years and loved listening to uplifting music and broadcasting the good news of Jesus Christ. She was active in her Faith Baptist church leading children’s choirs, organizing Vacation Bible School and directing Christmas plays. Ruth worked for the Division of Rehabilitation Services for the Blind where she received exemplary performance awards. She worked for Easter Seals at the time of her death. Ruth enjoyed quilting, crocheting and spending time with her family and friends. She could be found laughing and having fun with them in various activities. Ruth said an important lesson she hoped all her children and grandchildren learned was to be honest and truthful and for each of them to ask Jesus to be their own personal Savior. Ruth is survived by her children Rob (Mia), James (Sadie), Jennifer, and daughter in law Karen. Grandchildren: Joshua (Bri), Casey, Austin, (Chelsea), Colton (Ashley), Emily, James, Savannah, Harley and Brandy. Great grandchildren: Camryn, Caisen, Jace, Matdix, Cal, Claire, Scarlett, and Rowan. Her parents preceded Ruth in death, also her siblings, her son Mick and son in law Rick. Her family and friends will miss her dearly.
