August 22, 2016

Sarkis “Sark” Barakat, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, son-in-law and friend passed away peacefully on Monday, August 22, 2016 surrounded by his wife and family. Sark was loved and will be greatly missed by his family. He was born in Lebanon to Fouad and Amira and later came to the US and attended BYU. He was the owner and operator of Mountain Motors, a car dealership in Provo and enjoyed a long successful career. Sark married Tina Allam on November 10, 1979 at St. Ambrose Catholic Church. They were blessed with their daughter, Monique, the joy and light of their lives. All of us who loved him knew how much he enjoyed fishing, hunting and golfing and we all enjoyed sharing his interests with him. He is survived by his wife, Tina; daughter, Monique (Hannes) Vogel; grandchildren, Aaliya and Otto; brother, John (Marie); sisters, Nahie and Elaine (Yousef) Noah; sister-in-law, Dounia Barakat and many nieces, nephews and cousins. His is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Maroun. Special thanks to Envision Home Health and Hospice for providing excellent care and especially to Shelley, Leeanne, Caitlin, Mackenzie, Lori, Lisa, David and Mike for all their support and loving care. Funeral Mass to be held Saturday, August 27th, at 11:00 am, at St. Jude Maronite Catholic Church, 4900 South Wasatch Street, Murray, Utah. Interment in Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery to follow Mass. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to St. Jude Maronite Catholic Church. Funeral Directors: Utah Valley Mortuary.
