Mr. Stanley Boyd Smith

June 28, 1943 - May 14, 2013

Stanley Boyd Smith, husband, father, grandfather, brother, son, and friend, passed away on May 14, 2013, due to a stroke he experienced a few days prior. He was born in Santa Ana, California on June 28th, 1943 to Verle and June Smith. Brother to Steven, Michelene, Rex, and preceded in death by Verle Jr., Curtis, and Susan. He was raised LDS and served a mission in the New England/Nova Scotia area. He had the privelege of bringing many people to Christ through baptism, genealogy work, and temple work both during and after his mission. He was married to Gay Lynn Smith, father to 11 kids (Kimberly, Shane, Amberly, Stacey, Shem, Jared, Angel, Celeste, Alex, Britton, and Ben), step-father to 5 (Shanna, Natalie, Michael, April, and Chandra), and grandfather to 40 and counting. Stan was extremely devoted to the gospel. He was a very persistent man and pursued what he believed was right no matter the cost. He was brilliant, loving, patient, funny, and sensitive. He thrived off of helping others. He loved his family more than anything else and tried hard to be the best man he could, regardless of any opposition he faced. His belief in being prepared was unparalleled. Even though each year was "the end of the world," he would always plan ahead and try incredibly hard to help others do the same. His joys and hobbies include: anything with family, reading, genealogy work, meditating, service, working in the greenhouse, ruffling feathers on internet forums, coin collecting, investigating conspiracies, and ION (his business and way of life). His legacy and example are eternal and great. His unique and fierce spirit will be missed. Funeral Services for Stanley Boyd Smith will be held Saturday, May 18, at 11:00 am, at Ephraim 2nd Ward, 450 North 200 West, where a Visitation will be held prior from 10:00 am to 10:50 am. Interment in Ephraim City cemetery, 600 North Main Street, Ephraim UT. Funeral Directors: Utah Valley Mortuary.
