William Belmont Bagley

September 29, 1934 - January 3, 2022

William Belmont Bagley (Wild Bill) William Belmont Bagley age 87, died Monday, January 3, 2022 at the Utah Valley Hospital from complications following a stroke. Bill was born on Sept. 29, 1934 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Ray Belmont and Maurine (Mantle) Bagley. He was the eldest of 4 children. Bill attended Granite High School. He joined the U.S. Army and served his active duty at Fort Benning Georgia with honorable discharge. Bill worked for Interstate brick for several years before he got the job he loved at Western Airlines as a ground service equipment mechanic. Bill loved cars, he raced C tracks at the state fairgrounds in Utah and Boise Idaho during the 50’s and 60’s. It was on the race track he earned his title “Wild Bill''. He took home many trophies during his years of racing. He loved all sports. He was a top fastpitch softball player for many years. At one point he was recognized as one of the fastest softball pitchers in the state. He was in demand and played for several teams. Bill had a strong work ethic and had many side jobs working with rock, laying carpet and welding. He laid carpet until his knees would not allow it any longer. Bill was a loving husband, father and Grandfather. We will miss his soft heart and sense of humor. He is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He served as a Boy Scout Troop leader working with the youth of the Bountiful Heights Stake. He enjoyed visiting and helping others as much as he could and enjoyed his calling as a ministering brother. Bill is survived by his wife of 42 years, Kathleen Davis Bagley, and 3 step-sons Keith Faux, Shawn Faux (Connie), and Don Faux. Also survived by his former wife JoAnn Miller Bagley and their 5 children, Ronald (Carma), Sheldon (Lori), Tamara Guth (Martin), William Jr. (Courtney), and David (Suzanne). Sister, Bonnie Bagley and Brother Ray. 13 Grandchildren, 11 step-grandchildren and 8 great grand-children. Preceded in death by, father (Ray), mother (Maurine), Sister (Connie), Son (Michael), step-son (Gregory) and Grandson (Zachary). Friends and Family may attend the viewing Wednesday, January 19th at 11:00 a.m. followed by a short service at 12:00 noon at Utah Veterans Cemetery and Memorial Park (Camp Williams) Chapel located at 17111 South Camp Williams Rd. Bluffdale, Utah. Interment with Military Honors will be at Utah Veterans Memorial Park Cemetery.
