Anna Mason

July 2, 1933 - January 16, 2016

Anna Margaret Coffey Mason passed away on her husband's 90th birthday, January 16 2016, at her home in Orem Utah. She had been diagnosed with lymphoma a month earlier and was finally out of pain, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Monticello, Kentucky on July 2, 1933 to Alfred Wilburn and Nancy Ethel Coffey. She married Fred William (Bill) Mason on September 16, 1950 and was sealed to him and their 3 children in the Logan Utah Temple in 1961. Margaret grew up on a farm and attended schools in Monticello. As a teenager she moved to Lexington and worked at a theater where she met her husband. They eventually moved to Indianapolis Indiana where they raised their 3 children and made many lifelong friends. Her greatest joys in life were centered around her family - husband, children, grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews. She rejoiced in every effort, achievement, talent and success. She had a gift of making everyone feel like family because that's the way she saw them. She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and was happy and diligent in her many callings. Margaret's surviving family will miss her so much-her devoted husband of 65 years, Bill Mason and their 3 children, Debra Mason Rowe (Jeff), Steven Bradley Mason (Patti) and Richard Alan Mason (Kris). She leaves 10 grandchildren who adored her, 17 great grandchildren, 2 younger sisters-Juanita Wampler and Barbara Phelan, along with numerous nieces and nephews who thought of her as a second mom. She was preceded in death by her sweet parents, Wilburn and Ethel Coffey and her dear brother, Howard Coffey. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, January 21st, at 10:30 am, at the Aspen Stake Center, 965 West 2000 North, Orem, Utah, where a Viewing will be held prior from 9:00 am to 10:00 am. Interment in Elk Spring Cemetery, Monticello, Kentucky on Saturday, January 23rd, at 3:45 pm. A viewing will be held prior at Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home from 2:30 pm to 3:30 pm.
