Carolyn Sue Provolt

September 10, 1939 - October 14, 2021

Sue passed peacefully surrounded by her family on October 14, 2021 at their home in Lindon, UT after a courageous battle with cancer. She was 82 years old. Sue was born on September 10, 1939 in Baker City, OR to George Dale Comstock and Margaret Gaye Teeples and was raised in Pendleton OR where she graduated from Pendleton High in 1957. Shortly after graduation she would marry her high school sweetheart Richard Dale Provolt. They shared 64 wonderful years together and raised four boys and have five grandchildren and four great grandchildren. In addition to spending time with her family and friends, Sue had a passion for scrapbooking. The effort and details put into each book will be treasures for the family for years to come. Sue also enjoyed oil painting, cooking and for many years was a member of the Sweet Adeline Choir. After moving to Utah, she became an avid BYU football and basketball fan. She knew all the basketball players by name and attended games regularly. She also loved and cherished her dogs Izzy and KoKo. She was preceded in death by her parents and her youngest son, Joseph Brian Provolt. Sue is survived by her husband, Richard Dale Provolt, her sons, Gary Richard Provolt and his wife, Nancy, of Draper, David Ray Provolt and his wife, Nancy, of Colorado Springs, Scott Provolt and his wife, Lorenia, of American Fork; five grandchildren, four great grandchildren; one brother, Gary R. Comstock and his wife Mary of Stansbury Park; two sisters, Gloria Gowans and her husband Fred Gowans, of Orem and Merie Peterson of Portland and number of loving nieces and nephews. A Viewing will be held on Tuesday, October 19th, from 12:00 to 1:00 pm at Utah Valley Mortuary, 1966 West 700 North, Lindon, Utah. A Graveside Service will follow at 1:30 pm at the Lehi City Cemetery, 1100 North 400 East, Lehi, Utah. In lieu of flowers the family asks that you donate to your favorite local animal shelter in her name.
