Edward Jay Brown

Edward Jay Brown passed away January 18, 2022. Jay was born November 9, 1942 in Provo Utah to Edward Jay Brown and Mina Maude Davis. Jay grew up on a farm in Orem where he learned the value of hard work. After graduating from Orem High School he served in the United States Army and Army Reserve. In September 1968 he met the love of his life Doris June Cooper. They were married five months later on January 25, 1969. Jay was an avid outdoorsman. He loved hunting, fishing, trap shooting, and camping with family and friends. Jay was a teacher and mentor and passed many of these skills and the love of the outdoors down to his daughter and other family members. He was a member of the Squaw Peak Good Sams. Jay worked for Geneva Steel and was a true handy man. He was always willing to help those around him even if it was on the phone miles away giving step by step instructions on fixing a car or making a home repair. After retiring he enjoyed his weekly breakfast outings with his retired coworkers. He was also a coffee shop regular and could be found most mornings catching up with the guys. Jay is survived by his daughter Kate and beloved dog Clair. He was preceded in death by his parents Mina and Edward, wife Doris, his brother Henry, and his two sisters Carol and Glenda. A Visitation will be held Monday, January 24th, at the Timpanogos Park 4th Ward, 955 North 300 East, Orem, Utah from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Funeral Services will also be held at the church on Tuesday, January 25th, at 11:00 am where a Viewing will be held prior from 10:00 to 10:45 am. A brief Committal Service will be held on Wednesday, January 26th at 10:00 am in the Orem City Cemetery.
