Harold Joseph Snow D.D.S. Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Harold Joseph Snow, age 88, passed away at his home in American Fork, Utah on June 21st. Harold was born on January 9th, 1934 in Delta, Utah to his father, Joseph Homer Snow Jr. and his mother, Violet Maurine Snow. They lived in a basement home across from the school in Delta. His parents both taught at the school and his father was a coach and taught History. He exceled in sports and played basketball, football, ran track, and did the High Jump in High School and at The University of Utah. He won an all-around trophy for best athlete during college. He also was very musical and sang and played the trumpet with his best friend David Seegmiller. He graduated from The University of Utah in 1956 with a Bachelor of Science Degree. In college he was in the Navy ROTC. After college he joined the Navy and was stationed at Treasure Island for 2 years as a Grade Jr. Ensign. He taught Damage Control. After that he went to the University of California Dental School in San Francisco for 4 years. He met Sandra Jean Gardner on a summer break at the bank in Delta where she worked before his last year of school. They fell in love and got married in 1962 in the Manti Temple. He finished up school in San Francisco and started a Dental practice in Sacramento, California. Harold loved to run and read all kinds of books. He has a vast collection. Harold loved to sing and was involved in the barbershop show chorus The Saltairs for many years. He also sang in the Choral Arts Society of Utah Chorus. Harold loved dentistry and had his own practice for 34 years in Sacramento. After Harold and Sandra moved to Utah in 1996, he worked at the Utah State Prison in Draper as a dentist for 13 years. Harold held many church positions throughout his life. He was in 4 Bishoprics, ward clerk, scoutmaster, chorister, and executive secretary. Harold and Sandra were temple workers in the Oakland and West Jordan Temple. Harold and Sandra have three children, David, Julie and Paul. They have 7 grandchildren, Ashlee, Kaylee, Tyler, Cambree, Jordan, Lauren and Chelsee. They are expecting one great grandchild in July. Everyone adored Harold. He was the kind of person that made you feel at home. He was genuine and the kindest person you would ever meet. He always spoke positively about other people. Harold was always singing and telling jokes. He had a wonderful smile and it was contagious. Harold was honest, trustworthy, loyal, righteous, kind and hardworking. He taught his family by example and showed his great love of God. He had tremendous faith and a strong testimony of Jesus Christ and the gospel. He loved his family and the gospel and made those things a high priority in his life. He was a gentleman and was very kind, and loving to his wife Sandra. On August 25, 2022 it would have been their 60th wedding anniversary. Harold was the best son, husband, father and grandfather! His family will miss the silly jokes and funny nicknames he had for them. We will miss hearing him sing “Let there be Peace” on Christmas Eve. We will miss your goodness and positivity. We know you are singing with the angels. Our Heavenly Father has called you home. What a wonderful reunion you must be having with your parents, brother, friends and many more (Even Bizzo the dog). We will see you again some day for we know that families can be together forever! In Alma 40:12 it reads, And then shall it come to pass, that the spirits of those who are righteous are received into a state of happiness, which is called paradise, a state of rest, from all their troubles and from all care, and sorrow. We know you are at rest and peace and that you will be watching over us! Harold is survived by his wife Sandra, son David (Karla Kay) , daughter Julie (Jim), son Paul and seven grandchildren. He is preceded in Death by his father, Joseph Homer Snow Jr., mother Violet Maurine Snow, and brother Paul Snow. We are thankful for Active Home Health and Hospice, who took great care of Harold this last year and became good friends to our family. A viewing will be held Tuesday, June 28, 2022 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Utah Valley Mortuary located at 1966 West 700 North, Lindon, Utah. Services will be held on Wednesday, June 29, 2022 at 11:00 AM at the American Fork 43rd Ward located at 240 South Center Street, American Fork, Utah, where a viewing will be held prior to services from 9:30 to 10:30 AM.
