Please click on the following link to view the memorial service via live stream: https://my.gather.app/remember/jeanne-richardson Leola Jeanne Noble Bennett Richardson was born near the end of the Great Depression on April 22, 1936, in Salt Lake City, Utah, the second child of eight and first daughter of Leona Evelyn Petersen and Francis Newton Noble. Jeanne was 84 when she passed away on December 3, 2020 from complications of the corona virus, Covid 19, at the American Fork Hospital, American Fork, Utah. When she was young, the Nobles moved frequently in Idaho, Utah, California and Oregon, where she attended various schools, finally graduating from high school in Pendleton, Oregon. Her father moved the family to Provo, Utah, that Fall so she could attend Brigham Young University. While attending BYU she worked as a secretary in the men's P. E. department; and at a church meeting she met her husband-to-be, Douglas Roger Bennett. They were married in the Salt Lake Temple on April 5, 1956, and had their first child, JoLynn on January 4, 1957. After Roger's graduation, they moved to Glendale, California, where he worked at S. C. Edison Co. and she worked at ABC TV. A son, Rick Lee, was born on September 27, 1967. When Jeanne and Roger divorced, she moved to Phoenix, AZ where she and JoLynn both worked for KJ radio. In 1974 she and her two children moved to Oregon because she always wanted to. There she met Charlie Michael Richardson and married him in Safford, AZ, after moving to San Simon, AZ where her parents were living temporarily. They lived in Miami, OK and then moved to Florida, where their daughter Jeanie Rochelle was born on December 29, 1976. After Jeanne and Charlie divorced, she and the children lived in Utah, Oregon, and Texas. Jeanne loved music and had a beautiful alto voice and a natural talent for harmonizing. She loved singing with her dad, sisters and others throughout her life. JoLynn remembers singing Scarlet Ribbons with her at church numerous times while Jeanne played a nice electric guitar. She performed duets, trios or with small groups several times in Midland, Texas, and even sang in a trio at two care centers after the age of 81. She played the piano for a time and performed several classical pieces very well. She liked playing the guitar, and loved loud rock-n-roll oldies by Elvis, Ventures, Roy Orbison, Chet Atkins, Charlie Rich, Beach Boys, Mamas and Papas. Her skilled fingers also aided her employment--as she could, amazingly, type up to 110 words per minute, error free, as well as take dictation in shorthand at 100 words per minute. Jeanne was a good cook, and went "all out" for special occasions like Thanksgiving. She loved riding horses with her dad and family. She also learned to be a really good driver like her dad and brother Jay and passed this skill down to her daughter. She liked really nice cars: Camaro, Cadillac, Barracuda, etc. She sewed clothing for herself, her younger sisters and older daughter and was always careful about her appearance. She liked being called Jeannie. Jeanne was also very talented and prolific as a poetess. Many of her poems were gifts to family members; and some were published in several books that are collections of poems. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and always loved her Heavenly Father and her Savior Jesus Christ. With kind assistance from ward members in McKinney, Texas, who cared for her, moved her to the North Park Care Center there and helped her transition to a facility in Utah, Jeanne moved to the Heritage Care Center in American Fork in May of 2017 where she could be closer to family members. We appreciate the thoughtful, loving care she received at both facilities. Jeanne is survived by her 3 children, JoLynn Blood (Scott), Rick Lee (Jackie) Bennett, and Jeanie Rochelle Richardson, 7 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, 4 siblings: Jay (Nancy) Noble, Darla (Darrell) Bushman, Judy (Sam) Bateman, and Randy (Cinzia) Noble, a brother-in-law, Douglas Tobler and her ex-husband Roger Bennett. She was preceded in death by her ex-husband, Charlie Richardson, her parents, two brothers: Bert Noble and Kim Noble, and a sister, Carol (Douglas)Tobler . The memorial service will be held on Spring 2021, when Jeanne's children will more easily be able to travel here.; it will be held on her birthday, Thursday, April 22, 2021 at 11 am at Utah Valley Mortuary, 1966 West 700 North, Lindon, Utah.
