He is the son of the late Lorna Rae Rice and Jerry Dean Reed. He spent most of his childhood in Idaho and came to love the outdoors, camping, fishing and hiking with his family. He loved the Tetons, Palisades Lakes, White Clouds, Mount Timpanogos and family reunions at Granite and Lava Hot Springs. He began his schooling in Ririe, Idaho. He graduated with the class of 1981. He lettered in track, cross country and basketball. His great love, however, was skiing and he spent many fond days at Targhee and Kelly Canyon, Idaho. One of his last happy memories was taking his children skiing. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and enjoyed many callings. He served as First and Second Counselor in the Orem Park 11th Ward bishopric. He enjoyed scouting and earned an Eagle Scout Award. He was also a primary teacher and loved serving his home teaching families. In July 1981 to January 1983 he served an LDS mission to Fresno, California. Lynn had a firm testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ and loved his Heavenly Father and our Savior Jesus Christ. After his mission he attended Ricks College, Idaho, where he excelled in gymnastics. In 1985 he moved to Provo, Utah and studied graphic arts at Utah Valley Community College. After college he began a career in printing, working in the pre-press department and image assembly, becoming a supervisor. He married Lanet Schumann on May 13, 1988 in the Salt Lake Temple. They have three wonderful children, Bryant Layne of Orem, Utah, Derek Samuel (Lara) of Provo, Utah, and Natalie of Orem, Utah. They have fond memories of camping and exploring Yellowstone, Arches, Zions, Red Fish Lake and Lake Powell. He is survived by his siblings, Brad Reed (Deborah) of Rexburg, Idaho, Jerrilee Robinson (Todd) of Orem, Utah, and Darla Rock (Travis) of Meridian, Idaho; loved step-mother Connie Joyce Fox Reed; step-children Teresa (Cameron) Peterson, Valerie (Ryan) Harley, Nichole (Jeff Walker); loved grandchildren Hayli, Kenli, and Gracie Chaffin; Madison, Samuel, Benjamin, Ivy, Eli and Hazel Harley; Hudson, Finley and Briggs Walker.
