Roy Leland Stewart
December 9, 1940 - January 4, 2014
Roy Leland Stewart, 73, passed away on January 4, 2014, while at work doing what he loved. He was born December 9, 1940 to Gerald Norville Stewart and Hazel Marie Scheidegger Stewart in Camrose, Alberta, Canada. Roy served a LDS mission to the Southwest Indian Mission. He married Diane Edith Hamilton in the Cardston Alberta Temple on July 12, 1966. He attended BYU as a fine arts major. Roy saw beauty everywhere! He owned and operated a tree sculpting business. He took every effort to protect the integrity and beauty of the tree which was appreciated by all who hired him for his talents. He treated trees like artwork. His artistic talents included bronze and stone sculpture, ceramics, and sketching. Roy loved the Lord and loved doing missionary work. He touched many lives on a very personal level. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Diane; two sons, Nathan (Laurie) Stewart and Joseph Stewart; a sister, Arden Dean. Funeral Services will be held Friday, January 10, 2014 at 11:30 am at the Battlecreek 6th Ward, 825 South Loader Avenue, Pleasant Grove, UT, where a Viewing will be held that same morning from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. Interment in Pleasant Grove City Cemetery. Funeral Directors: Utah Valley Mortuary.
