Mr. Scott F. Andersen

October 20, 1961 - November 23, 2012

Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, Scott F. Andersen, passed away peacefully on November 23rd, 2012, at home surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with cancer. He was 51 years old. Scott was born on October 20, 1961 to Lynn and Mary (Paxman) Andersen in Eureka, California. He graduated from Enterprise High School and attended Southern Utah University, Colorado School of Mines, and Metropolitan State College of Denver graduating in 1995. Scott was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served a mission to Venezuela. After his mission, he married Nada Ann Prisbrey on August 2nd, 1985 in the St. George Temple. Together they raised five children, Jessica (Dan) Ball, Ryan (Kirstie), Nicole, Tanner and Jason. The family has lived in Colorado and Idaho but consider Utah home. Scott loved his family and will be remembered as a devoted father and grandfather. He enjoyed spending time with his family vacationing, camping, shooting, scuba diving, going to movies and four wheeling. He found time to attend, support and encourage his children in their school, athletic, scouting and church activities. He was an especially caring and fun grandfather for his two grandsons. Scott found enjoyment in many things. He lived an active life and was a good athlete. As a young man he excelled in track and held several high school and collegiate track records for distance races. He was an avid fan of the Colorado Rockies and Denver Broncos. He also loved aquariums, racing RC cars and collecting Hot Wheels Cars. But his greatest joy will forever be his family. Scott is survived by his wife and children, his parents Lynn and Linda Andersen of Lindon, his siblings Sheryl (Hal) Perkins of Pleasant Grove, Cindy (Dave) Harward of Indianola, Susan Fisher of Provo, David Andersen of Lehi, Lisa (Blake) Allred of Provo, Terry (Julia) Andersen of Perry, and Matt (Susan) Andersen of Springville. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Lynda Paxman Andersen and his brother Kurt Andersen. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, November 29, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Lindon 5th Ward Chapel, 610 W. 100 S., Lindon, UT, where Visitations will also be held Wednesday evening, November 28th from 6-8 p.m. and on Thursday morning prior to services from 9:45-10:45 a.m. Interment will be in the Lindon City Cemetery.
