Mr. Steven LaMar Tapp
December 11, 1938 - November 29, 2012
On November 29th our loving father, husband and grandfather, Steven LaMar Tapp, lost his battle with a debilitating disease, which he fought with amazing dignity and optimism. He maintained his sense of humor to his final moments. He passed peacefully at home surrounded by his family and loved ones. An active member of the Church Of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints he served as an assistant ward clerk, and First Counselor in the Elders Quorum Presidency. He loved most being a home teacher and serving the last eight years with his eternal companion and sweetheart at Utah Valley Hospital. Steve always said his riches were his children and grandchildren, and now great-grandchildren. He was the father of seven children, 24 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren (with two more on the way). He was filled with wonder and awe at God’s creations and had a love for knowledge. He was a lifetime student of anything scientific. He designed and created many things always looking for a better way to do things, and holds a number of patents. But anyone who knew him would tell you his greatest love is his sweetheart and eternal companion “Joe.” He is survived by his spouse, Nina Tapp, daughter Michelle Lye (Mark), daughter Diana Butterfield (Ken), daughter Jackie Beck (Chad), daughter Cheryle Jessen (Lane), son Mark (Jan), daughter Corinne Aagard (Douglas), and son Danny (Brande). He was preceded in death by his parents, Hazel Alsop and Floyd George Tapp; brothers, Donald Bill and Jack Tapp; sister-in-law, Tamera Tapp. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at 11:30 am at the Lindon Stake Center, 1050 East 100 North, Lindon, UT, where Viewings will be held on Monday evening, December 3rd from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm and Tuesday morning from 10:00 am to 11:15 am. Interment will follow services beginning at 3:30 pm in Mountain View Memorial Estates Cemetery, 3115 East 7800 South, Salt Lake City, UT. Funeral Directors: Utah Valley Mortuary.
